Nordic POLE PEDAL PANT Triathlon Race

Weather (high 30s and no wind) cannot be more perfect for the inaugural Nordic Pole Pedal Pant fall triathlon event held at Rainbow Resort (northern Minnesota near the headwaters of the Mississippi River) on Nov. 19, 2006.
Team Dunlaps (Mike and Karen Dunlap) came in just seconds ahead of team Beardsleys (Dick and Mary Beardsley). Team Rainbow raced in the third place. After Dick warmed up with his 20-miler on Sat. and a 6-miler before the Sunday race, carrying two frozen turkeys (the "handicapper") is not a choice of his. Instead, Dick chose to run the race course 4 laps against Mike's choice of biking 6 laps. While they were unchallenged by all fields, Dick and Mike went against each other and pushed to the end with seconds apart -- what did that remind you of, under a sunny day -- the "Dual Under the Sun?", but in Minnesota and November?
All in all, congratulations to all 10 athletes who completed the first Nordic Pole Pedal Pant fall triathlon ever held in the world.
