July 1st, 2008: Summer activities have kicked into high gear with the pleasant weather we have had the past 2 1/2 weeks. Boating, fishing, hiking, biking, swimming, resort programs and just relaxing by taking in the sunrise's, sunset's and natural beauty of the North woods. Check out our 3 night mini stays or special discounts for the balance of the summer. We have all sorts of amenities and things to do for lots of fun for all ages. We have 15 miles of our ski trails on resort property which provide scenic biking and hiking with an abundance of wildlife. Our disc golf course offers fun for the whole family.

We have a number of special camps and activities scheduled for this coming fall and winter including DICK BEARDSLEY MARATHON CAMP, NORDIC POLE PEDAL PANT fall triathlon, WEST ITASCA Ski Festival, etc. See our events calendar for more details.

Dick Beardsley has assembled one of the finest groups of coaches in the country for his DICK BEARDSLEY'S MARATHON RUNNING CAMP which was held at Rainbow Resort September 4-9. Campers from all over the United States and the world attend the camps. The number of campers per camp is limited to provide unbelievable access to the coaching staff and a truly unique wonderful experience.

Our modern lakeside cabins, vacation lake homes #2, #8A & #8B, are wheelchair accessible and include a roll-in wheelchair accessible shower. They are located about 100 feet from the lake on level ground in a beautiful park-like setting. Our vacation lake homes have all the comforts of home at the lakes. Come on up and enjoy a relaxing weekend by the lakes. There are several excellent golf courses close by. We are give trail rides on our 16 miles of on-site, trails which in the winter are excellent skiing trails.

We have several incredible spring/fall/winter specials including: HALF-PRICE RATES for MIDWEEK stays (Monday thru Thursday). HALF-PRICE RATES Sunday night if you stay a Friday & Saturday night. 25% weekend special discount for 2-persons in a 2-bedroom cabin. Call on Wednesdays or later in the week for our last minute getaway specials for the coming weekend. (In the winter season, daily ski passes are included free of charge as a part of the cabin rental rate.) Take advantage of our unbelievable midweek specials for your company or group retreat in the non-summer seasons and save 20% on our weekend rates for groups of 20 or more.

June 19th, 2008: With the warm weather we experienced last week the young swimmers here at the resort braved their way out to the Rave toys in the swim area. Warm weather is forecast. for the upcoming week should make swimming and water sports even more enjoyable.

June 27th, 2008: Guests spend some morning hours coloring their hot rocks. This guest activity created a lot of colorful results. The melted wax surface hardens to leave a shiny finish.

June 14th, 2008: Spending a couple weeks in June this is the Illinois Mission Team working among the Anishinaabeg/Ojibwe people. They have been guests at Rainbow Resort for 9 years. What a important service they do for the area, a great team!

June 26th, 2008: After two weeks of summer time weather the lake water temperature and light winds make for some great days of boating activities. Wake boarding and tubing seem to be the main events for the day time fun.

June 25th, 2008: Guests kayaking over to Johnny Cake lake had the great experience of coming upon a loon on her nest. they commented that she looked like she was froze in time.
