Enjoy fantastic fishing opportunities on Little Bemidji Lake and Elbow Lake & Johnny Cake Lake which are accessible by boat and are the headwater lakes of the Otter Tail River. Catch a variety of fish, including Walleye, Northern Pike, Largemouth Bass, Crappie, Bluegill and more. The three lakes are safe for small fishing boats, ensuring a great time on the water.
For golf enthusiasts, don't miss a visit to area golf courses such as the Mahnomen Country Club. and the many other public golf courses in the area. Visit the Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen for some gaming and great food. Detroit Lakes and Park Rapids offer many events & activities and tourist attractions.
Visit Itasca State Park, home to the headwaters of the Mississippi River, just a 1/2-hour drive along scenic state highway 113. Go birding and enjoy the wildlife on Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge which borders the south side of Little Bemidji Lake.
Children & adults enjoy a variety of children activities including minnow races, monster hunts, crafts, playhouse, playground and many other fun activities. There are two beaches for swimming and having fun all day!
Hike & bike on the 14 miles of onsite nature trails and ride the "Crazy Bus" on the trails. There are many miles of public trails in the area to explore. Rent canoes, kayaks and paddle boards to explore the three lakes and the Otter Tail River channel connecting them. Rent fishing boats, fishing motors, or the pontoon for even more adventure. And be sure to try your hand at disc golf and play some volleyball.
